Lexus CT 200h - Lexus' making Green Cars Extremely Flossy Bossy
The 2011 Lexus CT 200h is a car you'll want to take on a test drive. For what I'm about to say may be hard to believe, but I challenge you to sit in the driver's NuLuxe seat (Lexus-speak for 'pleather'), take the car for a romp, and walk away without a smile on your face. So the real question is: "Can an electric, greeny, nerdy car be cool?" Toyota unleashed their luxury brand Lexus to come up with that answer.
The Lexus CT 200h is their 5th hybrid car (CT stands for Compact Touring and H for Hybrid). Taking pride in a few first places along the way, Lexus was the first luxury manufacturer to offer the hybrid vehicle with the RX 400h in 2005. They have kept up with the leading pace by offering a new hybrid almost every year. Out of all of the hybrids on American roads today, three out of four of them are built by Toyota.
What specifics are there about the CT 200 h? This car is about good- looks, handling, modes, choices of customization, and a sassy self indulgence all the while helping Mother Earth by reducing emissions.
The look itself is sleek. The aerodynamic intentions were brought to light with a built-in roof spoiler that makes the car look like Bobba Fett's (of 'Star Wars' fame) helmet.
Further optimization of the front and rear bumper angles contribute to more environment efficiency resulting in low drag and excellent handling. A final touch of aerodynamic fins at the corners of the rear windows produces more control of airflow to help guide the air turbulence in the vehicles wake.
The overall design of the new car is 6 inches lower, which gives it better center of gravity. A hatchback-style body with very nice streamlines and an overall awesome exterior look makes this car a pauser on the beaches of Delray.
